Phase

1

The plant process consists mainly of ore handling, size reduction, screening, washing, and gravity concentration (dense media separation).

The ore is composed of several minerals and has an average grade of 25% Mn across all deposits. Consequently, ore blending is an important factor in ensuring plant performance
and 42% manganese concentration.

This new facility will be designed taking into account the parameters of the existing Phase 1 using the same production schemes, with the aim of reaching a production of 1.4 million tonnes per year.

Depending on the area available on the Biniomi site, the location of the Phase 1 plant and the proposed mining plan, the Phase 2 plant will be installed as indicated in the figures opposite.

Tailing Storage Facilities (TSF)

A residue reception facility has been installed in an area adjacent to the plant. This is a retention basin that not only eliminates residues by settling but also supplies water to the production process. The long-term plan for tailings storage, particularly as production ramps up, is to utilize the mining areas on the plateaus adjacent to the plants, once the manganese has been extracted. A series of retention ponds, with a lifespan of 4 to 5 years, are being developed successively with embankment levels of up to 10 meters. Vegetation is being done on the slope of these tailings dams for better stability and these tailings dams are continuously monitored and maintained by our in-house team with the help of third party expert/consultants.
