Transport-Export
Railway infrastructures enable manganese to be transported from Franceville (Benguia
Terminal) to Libreville (Owendo Terminal). Manganese is loaded onto ore tankers using barges, for quantities of around 50,000 tonnes of concentrate.
Franceville Rail Terminal
Manganese produced at the Biniomi plant is transported by truck, then stored at the Terminal before being shipped to the port of Owendo by train. The storage dock is linked to the Transgabonais railroad by a 5.1-km spur line. Construction was completed in May 2016.
Libreville Port Terminal
The port’s annual handling capacity is 3 million tonnes of ore. Cargoes are loaded by self-propelled barges.
